Supplier Quality Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain supplier quality procedures to support IATF16949 requirements and achieve zero-defect goals.
• Provide technical support to production lines regarding raw material quality and performance issues.
• Coordinate corrective actions with suppliers, including the review of 8D reports, control plans, FMEAs, and process flow diagrams.
• Track and manage supplier performance using quality scores, incidence reports, and PPM metrics.
• Support PPAP and APQP activities for new suppliers, new parts, or re-sourcing activities.
• Manage material in the hold area and collaborate with stakeholders to reach final disposal decisions.
• Follow plant strategic initiatives and adhere to all safety, health, and housekeeping protocols.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical Engineering (EE), or a Business degree.
• 2-3 years of experience in the automotive industry with strong customer interaction.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
• Knowledge of IATF16949 requirements and APQP process management.
• Working knowledge of 8D, SPC, GD&T, FMEA, and incoming quality inspection.
• Proficiency in problem-solving methodologies such as A3, DOE, or Fishbone diagrams.
• Ability to travel up to 35% of the time.
