Supplier Quality Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier audits, onboard new suppliers, and implement corrective actions to address weaknesses
• Manage the supplier panel and ensure defined KPIs are met, proposing measures when targets are missed
• Support new projects through APQP, R&R, VDA 6.3 audits, and risk assessments, ensuring quality post-SOP
• Perform regular supplier evaluations and implement development plans, particularly for B and C class suppliers
• Collaborate with the purchasing department and support manufacturing plants in resolving escalations
• Manage supplier portfolio changes, including relocations or insolvencies
• Provide quality training and development to suppliers and implement new tools to increase performance
• Ensure compliance with international standards including IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and TISAX

Requirements

• Technical university degree in an engineering or related field
• Proven experience in supplier quality management, ideally within the automotive industry
• Deep knowledge of quality tools such as APQP, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, and VDA
• Proficiency in English (daily use); German or other foreign languages are a plus
• Experience with SAP QM and MS Office
• Ability to read technical documentation and conduct professional audits
• Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and leadership qualities
• Willingness to travel more than 30% of the time for global supplier visits
