Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support procurement, program management, manufacturing, and engineering with all supplier quality related activities
• Perform quality system evaluations of new and ongoing suppliers and conduct supplier surveillance during fabrication
• Draft and maintain electronic records of supplier surveillance and evaluation reports in the ERP system
• Identify and mitigate supplier-born risks and analyze defect trends to lead continuous improvement projects
• Communicate non-conformances to suppliers and track the implementation of corrective/preventive actions
• Support Receiving Inspection with non-conformance evaluations and Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
• 5+ years of experience in product assurance and quality systems, including exposure to ISO9001/AS9100
• US Citizenship Required
• Ability to travel up to 40% per month for supplier surveys, audits, and inspections
• Experience with PCBA (IPC-A-610, J-STD) and manufacturing assemblies
• Strong root cause analysis skills (5 Whys, 8D, FMEA, Fishbone)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering documentation and drawing dimensions

Preferred Qualifications

• Quality Engineer Certification (CQE) from ASQ
• Experience leading process improvement projects using Agile, Six Sigma, or Lean
• Certification or training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Familiarity with AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements
• Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
