About the role
Responsibilities
- Translate product and engineering requirements into sourcing and supplier requirements
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and scalability
- Support selection and qualification of components including power distribution, PCB assemblies, mechanical structures, and thermal systems
- Partner with electrical, mechanical, and thermal engineering teams during design reviews to provide input on manufacturability and cost
- Drive design-for-cost and value engineering initiatives
- Resolve technical performance issues and manufacturing or quality concerns directly with suppliers
- Support BOM development, AVL/AML alignment, and lifecycle risk mitigation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Supply Chain, or equivalent technical discipline)
- 3+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engineering, or technical procurement
- Experience supporting new product development (NPD) or manufacturing environments
- Technical knowledge of electrical power distribution, PCB assemblies, mechanical assemblies, or thermal/cooling systems
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Strong understanding of cost drivers, lead times, and supply chain risk management
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data center infrastructure, power systems, or thermal solutions
- Familiarity with UL, IEC, ISO, or ASHRAE standards
- Experience with PLM/ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
- Background in value engineering, should-cost analysis, or supplier development
- Knowledge of design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) methodologies
