About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead experiments to drive design, development, and supply chain decisions for high-volume manufacturing
- Assess fabrication technology suitability, including automation and cost-effective mass production potential
- Review supplier tool design, process flow, equipment selection, and DFM proposals
- Drive process development and capability assessment to ensure alignment with high-volume ramp-up requirements
- Establish validation procedures and statistical process controls for tooling and mass production
- Coordinate Quality Engineering functions and serve as project manager at supplier locations
- Implement FAI and Cp/Cpk reviews of mechanical parts and monitor ongoing process capability
- Identify potential execution issues and provide recommendations to mitigate risk and optimize yield
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering or STEM discipline
- 1+ years of experience in supply chain engineering, supplier development/quality, manufacturing, or design engineering
- Ability to work onsite in Vietnam
- Willingness to work long hours and weekends when needed
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the work week to suppliers within Vietnam
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in PCBA manufacturing and SMT processes (screen printing, pick-and-place, reflow, etc.)
- Engineering degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean manufacturing
- Proven track record of production ramp-up for high-volume consumer electronics
- Strong understanding of PCBA failure modes and quality control methodologies (8D, PFMEA, DOE)
- Hands-on experience with failure analysis and large dataset analysis
- 5+ years of experience in SMT engineering or Final Assembly, Test and Packout
- Expertise in advanced SMT technologies and environmental testing standards
