About the role
Responsibilities
- Audit contract manufacturing partners and suppliers to ensure quality standards conform to Axon requirements.
- Lead the selection and evaluation of potential new suppliers, including conducting onsite audits.
- Ensure the flow down of Axon Supplier Quality requirements to the entire supply base.
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) in accordance with inspection plans and quality criteria.
- Lead DFx reviews and product/process qualifications such as PPAP and FAIR.
- Assess supplier inspection capabilities (IQC/OQC/IPQC) and evaluate measurement method correlation.
- Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs).
- Review and evaluate supplier Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA to ensure robustness.
- Provide data and metrics regarding supplier quality performance to Operations, Finance, and Engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Material Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, specifically with mechanical parts, PCBA assembly, or box builds.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience conducting first- and second-party audits.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO9001, AS9100, or IATF16949.
- Proficiency with statistical software, such as Minitab.
- Ability to read and understand assembly drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills using tools like PFMEA, Control Plans, and 8D Methodology.
- Ability to travel internationally to Europe and Canada on short notice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Experience with measurement analysis methods, including Gage R&R.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and ASME GD&T.
- Experience working in a regulated industry.
- Prior experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer.
