Supplier Development Engineer

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-the-ground representative for Base throughout Mexico to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts and assemblies
• Ramp supplier lines from early prototyping through full-scale production, ensuring readiness in equipment, staffing, and processes
• Assess supplier manufacturing processes to optimize for production requirements and scalability
• Support supplier qualification through auditing manufacturing facilities, processes, and quality standards
• Participate in design for manufacturability reviews during the product design phase
• Evaluate "should cost" manufacturing strategies to inform investment decisions

Requirements

• Manufacturing knowledge in processes such as PCBA, electro-mechanical assembly, sheetmetal, injection molding, casting, or coating
• Analytical and data-driven mindset with comfort using tools like SQL, dashboards, and CRMs
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for stakeholder coordination
• Commercial acumen for negotiating and sustaining B2B2C outcomes
• Ability to travel throughout Mexico and to the US (expected travel 50%+)
