About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and mentor a team of multimedia designers, providing creative direction and professional development.
- Drive the graphic design strategy and vision for digital, print, video motion graphics, and branding.
- Champion and uphold WGU’s brand identity across all touchpoints through scalable design systems.
- Design and animate high-quality 2D/3D assets, storyboards, and animatics for various platforms.
- Lead art direction for video and photography shoots, ensuring content is on-brand and within budget.
- Partner with producers, content strategists, and executives to translate complex concepts into engaging visual narratives.
- Oversee the development of media assets, digital campaigns, and promotional materials.
- Maintain a detailed library of content and assets and assist in establishing industry-best workflow processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Film/TV Production, Multimedia, or a related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
- 8+ years of experience in an agency, in-house team, or post-production studio.
- 1-2 years of experience leading, directing, or formally mentoring creative team members.
- Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
- Proficiency in 3D programs such as Cinema 4D, Blender, Maya, or equivalent.
- A strong portfolio of work demonstrating expertise in motion graphics, video editing, and visual design.
- Experience managing video, live production, and photoshoots.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve or Avid Pro Tools.
- Ability to visualize complex data for marketing and editorial videos.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, purpose-driven studio environment.
