About the role

Responsibilities

  • Act as a working supervisor managing a team of five controllers in a 24/7 remote operations control center
  • Provide administrative leadership including performance reviews, career development, scheduling, and payroll management
  • Serve as a tactical shift leader for either the Cryogenic or Utilities & Combustion desk, directing real-time dispatch operations
  • Ensure strict compliance with PHMSA Control Room Management (CRM) regulations and oversee fatigue management protocols
  • Maintain full technical qualifications to operate consoles and step in as a controller during emergencies or absences
  • Act as the first-line incident commander during asset trips, abnormal operating conditions, or pipeline anomalies
  • Facilitate communication between the control center and plant personnel regarding equipment constraints and operational strategies

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a controller or operator in a 24/7 industrial plant control room or regulated pipeline dispatch center
  • 3+ years of experience in an industrial gas production facility as a plant engineer
  • Proven leadership capability in high-stress, fast-paced operational environments
  • Advanced proficiency with SCADA systems (e.g., GeoSCADA) and historian software (e.g., AVEVA PI)
  • Deep understanding of industrial gas physics, including cryogenic distillation, combustion/reforming, or pipeline hydraulics
  • Associate’s degree in Process Technology or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of PHMSA Control Room Management (CRM) regulations and Operator Qualification (OQ) standards
