About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Production Quality Engineering team and Quality Technicians.
  • Serve as the primary quality contact for production lines and manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Lead root cause analysis and CAPA using structured methods such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone.
  • Maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) on critical-to-quality characteristics to prevent defects.
  • Oversee the development of PFMEA, Control Plans, and other risk assessments.
  • Manage daily operations of the QA Metrology Lab, ensuring 5S standards and efficient inspection throughput.
  • Lead Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) and Gage R&R activities to validate accuracy.
  • Ensure proper calibration of all inspection tools and lab equipment with NIST traceability.
  • Support internal and external audits (ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949, ISO 13485) and maintain documentation control.
  • Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives to reduce waste and the Cost of Quality (COQ).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality Management, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of quality engineering experience in a high-stakes manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, automotive, or medical device).
  • 1–2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of APQP/PPAP frameworks, including FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
  • Proficiency with ERP and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with statistical software.
