About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision of a team of analysts responsible for the testing and release of products to support manufacturing timelines.
- Prioritize workload and manage resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery of all projects, testing, and action items.
- Supervise the testing and release of raw materials, stability samples, cleaning samples, EM, Bioburden, and Endotoxin.
- Ensure strict adherence to compliance with all processes, including training completions, QE and CAPA due dates, and notebook/logbook audits.
- Issue Certificates of Analysis within 2 business days of last test completion.
- Generate, monitor, and report weekly team and analyst KPIs.
- Conduct and coordinate laboratory investigations and review technical reports, test methods, and specifications.
- Partner with the investigations team and scheduler to ensure timely closure of QEs and field alert investigations.
- Provide leadership, training, and professional development for direct reports through regular coaching and feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in science, specifically in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Microbiology.
- 6+ years of analytical laboratory experience.
- 5+ years of pharmaceutical GMP experience.
- Proficiency with analytical instruments including HPLC, FTIR, GPC, GC, and UV-Vis.
- Strong knowledge of analytical method validation and instrument qualification.
- Thorough understanding of government regulations regarding drugs and medical devices as they apply to laboratory work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role within a pharmaceutical setting.
Benefits
- Annual pay range of $100,000 - $105,000 depending on experience.
