About the role
Responsibilities
- Identify and reduce supplier, in-process, and customer claims to achieve zero defects through root cause analysis and corrective measures.
- Review internal and customer rejections using G8D, CAPA, and QC-Story methods to monitor effectiveness.
- Coordinate external audits (IATF 16949-2016) and customer audits.
- Monitor customer scorecards regarding PPM, line stops, NCR, and lot rejections, presenting recommendations to management.
- Identify quality risks in existing processes and initiate improvement actions with manufacturing and process engineering.
- Establish quality requirements for external suppliers in coordination with the purchasing department.
- Manage supplier performance and provide training on supplier manuals, scorecards, and company policies.
- Lead GSSF element implementation and ensure sustainability of assigned elements.
- Investigate safety incidents and manage the closing process using 8D methodology.
Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in the automotive or automotive supplier industry, specifically in warranty, process, or customer quality.
- Trained auditor in IATF 16949.
- Expertise in root cause analysis and disciplined 8D problem-solving.
- Proficiency in Minitab and engineering-level understanding of statistics and reliability.
- Strong blueprint reading skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Excellent communication and team-building skills to work across plant engineering, production, and supply chain departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Shainin Red X Apprentice or Journeyman status.
- Experience with APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, FMEA, VDA 6.3, CQI 9, and CQI 11.
