Supervisor, Plant Operations and Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and supervise unionized maintenance staff ensuring safety and compliance with collective agreements
• Oversee operation and performance of building systems including HVAC, BAS, boilers, chillers, and electrical systems
• Plan and coordinate preventive maintenance programs, corrective repairs, and capital projects
• Manage contractors, service providers, and maintenance vendors
• Maintain regulatory compliance, technical documentation, and maintenance records
• Monitor inventory levels and operational expenditures to meet budget objectives
• Utilize CMMS to track work orders and drive continuous improvement
• Participate in after-hours on-call support and emergency response

Requirements

• Minimum of Community College (CET equivalent)
• Valid Ontario second class stationary engineers certificate, Building operator certificate, or trade license (Millwright, Electrician, Plumber, or Steam fitter)
• 5-10 years of leadership experience in facilities management
• 5-7 years of progressive facility maintenance or plant operations experience
• Experience managing unionized maintenance staff
• Strong mechanical and HVAC background with ability to read mechanical, electrical, and control drawings
• Knowledge of building automation systems, life safety systems, and critical infrastructure

Preferred Qualifications

• University Engineering Degree
