Supervisor of Buildings & Grounds

Responsibilities

• Plan, prioritize, and manage daily grounds maintenance programs to ensure campus appearance, plant health, and safety.
• Supervise, train, and provide technical guidance to groundskeepers and student employees.
• Coordinate and oversee contractor work to ensure alignment with College standards.
• Develop and monitor the Grounds department budget, including the purchase of supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Manage a preventative maintenance program for all grounds equipment to maximize reliability and safety.
• Maintain detailed records of chemical applications, MSDS sheets, and equipment inventory.
• Operate the Central Irrigation Control System and manage scheduling.
• Direct snow and ice removal operations and update relevant procedure manuals annually.
• Assist Planning and Construction with new projects through plan critique and contractor liaison.

Requirements

• High School diploma required (Associate’s Degree in Turf/Landscaping/Horticulture preferred).
• Minimum of 7 years of facility operations experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Must hold a State of Ohio Licensed Pesticide Applicator certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Experience utilizing a Computerized Central Irrigation Control System.
• Ability to identify insects and diseases and determine proper treatments.
