Supervisor, Microbiology

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all microbiology laboratory activities, including bioburden, endotoxin, growth promotion, and biological indicator testing.
• Manage, train, and mentor the microbiology laboratory team, including onboarding and career development.
• Oversee the execution of bioburden and endotoxin method development and qualifications.
• Supervise the daily execution of the contamination control program and the Environmental Monitoring Group.
• Review and approve test results, SOPs, OOSs, deviations, and batch records.
• Ensure all laboratory activities comply with relevant regulatory, compendial, and GLP requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert during client audits and internal/external meetings.
• Maintain laboratory performance metrics and ensure testing timelines are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Microbiology.
• Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience.
• In-depth knowledge of Environmental Monitoring and contamination control.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological methods, techniques, and compendial requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop laboratory personnel.
