Supervisor, Lab Operations

Responsibilities

• Perform and report clinical laboratory testing including extractions, library preparation, enrichments, and sequencing
• Handle and process patient specimens according to laboratory procedures
• Implement and evaluate quality control materials for statistical process control
• Troubleshoot assays and equipment when quality control fails
• Document corrective actions for test system deviations
• Assist in regulatory audits (CAP) and external customer inspections
• Train CLS and lab personnel on laboratory methods
• Monitor activities of non-licensed staff and provide guidance on troubleshooting
• Assist in assay development activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in sciences or related discipline
• Valid California CLS or CGMBS license
• At least four years of CLS experience in a clinical laboratory
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Lead role

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with manual DNA/RNA extractions
• Experience with manual library preparation
• Experience with automated liquid handlers
