Supervisor, Histology

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of the Histology department
• Ensure laboratory tests are accurately performed and results are reported timely
• Directly supervise, train, and mentor laboratory personnel
• Monitor daily workflow and schedule adequate assay coverage
• Research and resolve production errors and escalate when necessary
• Maintain Quality Assurance records and ensure equipment maintenance through Quality Control
• Perform bench work as needed to maintain technical proficiency
• Ensure all work complies with state and Federal regulations
• Manage departmental policies, procedures, payroll, and personnel files

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Active ASCP Board of Certification (HT(ASCP) or HLT(ASCP))
• 4+ years of Histology laboratory experience
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
• Strong knowledge of CLIA and CAP regulations
• Proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office
