Supervisor, Gateway Clearance

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate customs clearance activities in a gateway environment to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations
• Ensure strict compliance with federal and foreign regulations regarding the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported and exported products
• Establish, monitor, and revise policies, procedures, and service standards for customs clearance operations
• Supervise a staff of approximately 30 employees, including hiring, coaching, training, and performance management
• Meet key performance indicator (KPI) targets for assigned products
• Verify tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise and examine shipping documents such as invoices and bills of lading
• Coordinate with customs officials to obtain freight release and resolve shipment delays

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in a related field
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience
• Professional certification required in specific functional areas
• Strong understanding of principles, theories, and concepts related to customs brokerage and business operations

Preferred Qualifications

• U.S. Customs Broker License
