Supervisor, Food Services

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect supervision to staff in Patient Tray Assembly, Ware Washing, and other Nutrition Services areas
• Ensure efficient operation of the facility by managing food/non-food supplies and working equipment
• Maintain high standards of food handling, preparation, quality, accuracy, and cleanliness in adherence to Toronto Public Health standards
• Utilize the CBORD system for purchasing, receiving, inventory flow monitoring, and menu management
• Manage employee scheduling, educational instruction, and resource management
• Address staffing issues in accordance with respective collective agreements
• Maintain ongoing communication with management to ensure timely dissemination of information

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved Food and Nutrition Management Program (Community College or University)
• Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) or a related professional association
• Valid Food Handler Certification
• Minimum of two years of recent food service supervisory experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of CBORD computer program
• Experience in a healthcare and unionized environment
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, allergies, and food sanitation
