Supervisor, Finance

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management of budgets, including strategic planning, analysis, and forecasting
• Interpret and apply University policies and procedures to make independent financial decisions
• Advise staff on accounting practices and University financial policies
• Forecast and plan financial activities, incorporating multiple revenue sources and recoveries
• Implement process improvements for financial administration activities
• Conduct financial research and analysis to serve as an expert resource for the division
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in accounting or an equivalent combination of experience
• Minimum five years of relevant financial budget and accounting experience
• Demonstrated experience with budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Experience supervising staff or overseeing a team, including providing leadership, mentorship, and training
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas and pivot tables)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
• Experience with SAP
• Audit experience
