Compass Coffee was founded in 2014 by two Marines who became obsessed with the quest for the perfect cup. What began as a desire to unlock the secret to perfect coffee grew into something much more significant: a realization that coffee is a ritual that brings people together. Compass Coffee has expanded to 16 cafes in and around DC, maintaining a relentless commitment to ethical sourcing, masterful blending, and peak roasting.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming atmosphere and provide legendary customer service
• Seek opportunities to engage and connect with customers
• Craft drinks that uphold quality standards
• Taste coffee daily to expand palette and knowledge
• Support team members in upholding the company mission
• Follow cleaning standards to ensure cafes are fresh, clean, and safe
• Prepare food and drinks to standard or customized requests
• Uphold cafe operational standards

Requirements

• 1 year of supervisor experience required
• Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving mindset and receptiveness to feedback
• Ability to maintain regular and consistent attendance
