About the role
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day clinical laboratory operations during the Tuesday-Friday night shift (10pm-7:30am).
- Supervise, recruit, train, and evaluate the competency of laboratory staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the Quality Management program, including pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes.
- Resolve technical problems and ensure corrective actions are taken for any test deviations.
- Manage laboratory expenses, supply ordering, and equipment needs within departmental budgets.
- Verify test procedures by reviewing proficiency testing, corrected reports, and quality control data.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory/medical technology science.
- 4+ years of experience in high complexity testing, including molecular pathology methods.
- 2+ years in a role with progressive responsibility (e.g., lead technologist, technical specialist, or quality control).
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to work the designated night shift schedule and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of laboratory supervision experience.
- 6+ years of experience in high complexity clinical laboratory testing.
- National certification (e.g., ASCP) or equivalent state licensure.
- Experience with Laboratory Information System (LIS) workflows and requirements.
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management and regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, OSHA).
