Supervisor-Central Sterile Processing

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Central Sterile Processing department, including practice standards and overall activity.
• Supervise assigned staff, including hiring, orienting, training, evaluating, and coaching.
• Prepare staffing schedules and ensure assignments match workload requirements.
• Assist leadership with budgeting, fiscal management, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Monitor decontamination and sterilization processes to ensure compliance with AAMI standards.
• Coordinate instrument turnaround activities and ensure availability for upcoming surgical cases.
• Manage instrument tracking systems, purchases, repair programs, and loaner instrument acquisitions.
• Maintain accurate records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Act as an infection control liaison and collaborate with clinic staff and leadership.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification.
• Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) certification.
• Minimum of three (3) years of sterile processing technician experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to delegate tasks effectively and manage time in a high-pressure environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
• Certified Healthcare Leadership (CHL) from HSPA.
