About the role

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Firm in all interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and project team members
  • Provide trade-specific system design, including layout using CAD/BIM and technical calculations
  • Establish system application, design, and operational parameters in collaboration with senior technical staff
  • Oversee the QA/QC process for your own work and the work of others
  • Collaborate with senior staff on project scheduling, staffing requirements, and budgets
  • Perform construction administration and field investigations, including inspections and detailed reports
  • Process RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda
  • Manage CAD/BIM and technical staff assigned to specific projects or tasks
  • Write engineering proposals and estimate construction costs using ROM (Rough Order of Magnitude)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in a mechanical discipline
  • Minimum of 12+ years of experience working in a consulting firm
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • Proficiency in REVIT and the latest version of AutoCAD MEP
  • Ability to read, review, and evaluate floor plans, sections, and elevations
  • Expertise in trade-specific design and calculation software
  • Thorough understanding of applicable building codes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SKM Software
  • Ability to perform Short Circuit coordination and Arc Flash Studies
