Supervising Attorney, Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and management for the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics, including the Mobile Legal Clinic.
• Supervise pro bono work performed by law students and volunteer lawyers to ensure effective service delivery.
• Practice law through the Marquette Volunteer Legal Clinics.
• Manage all aspects of clinic operations, including administration, logistics, scheduling, and data tracking.
• Collaborate with the Office of Public Service and access-to-justice stakeholders to develop program strategy.
• Supervise student employees, including hiring, training, and performance management.
• Oversee program communications, marketing, and community outreach.
• Coordinate maintenance for the Mobile Legal Clinic vehicle and drive the vehicle as needed.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
• Current, active Wisconsin law license in good standing.
• Experience in public interest or pro bono practice settings.
• Strong written and oral communication skills for engaging with diverse groups.
• Proven ability to manage time, set priorities, and accomplish projects collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of previous related experience.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Experience with volunteer legal programs, law student internships, or pro bono work.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin statutory wills, powers of attorney, or adult guardianship forms.
