Supervising Advanced Practice Nurse

Responsibilities

• Supervise, educate, and mentor Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) within the Department of Head and Neck Surgery
• Ensure clinical excellence, effective communication, and adherence to regulatory guidelines and policies
• Collaborate with department leadership to monitor APP productivity and optimize clinical workflows
• Manage workload distribution, including office practice, hospital needs, and operating room coverage
• Develop coverage plans for all types of APP leave and assist with onboarding schedules for new staff
• Act as a clinical resource to troubleshoot issues and provide patient triaging as needed
• Provide direct patient care by covering RWJMS faculty sites

Requirements

• NJ Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist certification
• Master's Degree in a relevant field
• Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or managerial experience
• Must have clinical privileges at RWJ University Hospital—New Brunswick
