Responsibilities

• Manage the sample preparation process from arrival through to completion
• Maintain production levels and ensure all deadlines are met
• Coordinate and prioritize daily workloads for the laboratory team
• Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and safety policies
• Monitor employee adherence to health and safety regulations
• Verify work order data entry and collaborate with data entry staff to resolve ambiguities
• Identify and resolve operational issues and address client inquiries or complaints
• Assist the preparation manager with HR activities, including recruitment, training, and performance management
• Perform basic mechanical maintenance as required
• Monitor laboratory supplies, manage petty cash, and prepare weekly reports

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of management or supervision experience in a production environment
• Post-secondary diploma
• Proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and work in a dusty environment
• Ability to stand for a full shift and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Geology, or Management
• Previous experience in a laboratory or geological preparation service
