Superintendent - Heavy Civil Infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Provide supervisory direction to craft workers via foremen to manage productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence
• Oversee heavy civil infrastructure activities including excavation, mass grading, paving, concrete, and utility installation
• Act as a liaison between field engineering and craft teams to ensure compliance with construction drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with other superintendents, subcontractors, and Kiewit leadership to ensure smooth workflow
• Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor levels, material quantities, and equipment requirements
• Ensure consistent adherence to project rules, safety programs, and workplace behavior standards

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing heavy civil operations
• Advanced knowledge of construction disciplines, safety regulations, and engineering drawings
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work onsite and travel to various project locations across the Central US
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required to meet project deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management or a related field
• Experience with self-perform construction/earthwork for Highway, Bridge, Aviation, or Industrial projects
• Knowledge of union agreements and jurisdictional issues
