Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction

Responsibilities

• Mentor and help grow fellow Kiewit staff members
• Manage contract administration and lead subcontractor/field management meetings
• Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
• Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
• Develop and implement plans for project completion and turnover
• Maintain daily diaries for accurate record keeping
• Ensure all performance evaluations for direct reports are completed in a timely fashion
• Oversee heavy civil construction activities including earthwork, utilities, traffic control, paving, and signage
• Maintain strong client relations through regular meetings and problem resolution

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in the construction industry
• 3+ years of experience in a supervisory role overseeing heavy civil projects (roads, bridges, dams, etc.)
• Proven knowledge of heavy civil construction settings
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
• Valid driver's license
• Willingness to relocate temporarily or permanently on an as-needed basis
• Strong commitment to safety and ethics

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of union agreements and jurisdictional issues
• Experience with large-scale earthmoving and water/wastewater treatment plant projects
• Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance
