Supercomputing Test Software Engineer

Etched is building hardware for frontier intelligence. We co-design chips, racks, software, and manufacturing to deliver best-in-class throughput and latency across both prefill and decode workloads. Our first products are heavily focused on inference.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automated supercomputing test suites using Python, Go, or Bash
• Execute tests on server hardware, monitor system performance, and analyze results
• Investigate and debug hardware and software failures and provide mitigation plans
• Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to identify root causes
• Contribute to the development of supercomputing testing infrastructure and automation tools
• Create and maintain documentation for test plans, cases, and results
• Analyze system performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimization areas

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go
• Experience with software testing methodologies and tools
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems and server hardware architectures
• Ability to analyze complex technical problems
• Experience with version control systems like Git
• Experience reading and interpreting hardware logs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with hardware burn-in or reliability testing
• Experience with performance testing and benchmarking tools
• Familiarity with hardware diagnostic tools and techniques
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of low-level hardware communication protocols (e.g., i2c)
• Experience with data analysis tools and techniques
