Summer Youth Mentor

Responsibilities

• Implement youth activities for the Kids Club Program (ages 7-12)
• Plan, prepare, and lead small group activities and recreational programs
• Act as a positive role model and provide oversight and supervision for children
• Assist with program registration, recruitment, and community drop-in events
• Maintain program safety, confidentiality, and cleanliness of facilities
• Participate in staff meetings and required in-service training
• Assist with the collection of registration forms and program fees

Requirements

• High School or University student between the ages of 16 and 29
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Strong leadership potential and ability to work as a motivated team player
• Completed Criminal Record Check (Winnipeg Police or RCMP) including Vulnerable Sector
• Clear Manitoba Child Abuse Registry check
• Clear Manitoba Adult Abuse Registry check
• Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting up to 40 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• Special interests in recreational activities, creative arts, or storytelling
• Prior experience working with children in a camp or recreational setting
