Completed Grade 9, Ability to lift 29 lbs, Child & youth abuse prevention clearance, Flexible disposition
About the role
Responsibilities
- Create and deliver quality programs and activities for children using a trauma-informed perspective
- Plan and implement age-based activities focused on literacy, STEM, emotional regulation, and mental health wellness
- Role model healthy behaviors and attitudes to support positive growth in participants
- Maintain accurate client files and communication logs regarding children's programming
- Assist with special events, risk management, and program calendar creation
- Interact with parents in a supportive, non-judgmental manner
- Work alongside volunteers and other staff members to ensure effective camp operations
Requirements
- Completed Grade 9 education
- Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 29 lbs
- Successful completion of internal child and youth abuse prevention clearance
- Flexible disposition and a positive attitude
- Ability to maintain a responsible level of maturity and leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in extracurricular activities or volunteer work
