About the role
Responsibilities
- Implement weekly summer day camp programs for children aged 6-11
- Provide interactive, hands-on support for games, crafts, and activities
- Ensure constant and consistent supervision of all campers to maintain safety
- Plan and execute daily activities and community outings
- Support meal and snack preparation, serving, and cleanup
- Maintain accurate camper attendance and confidential records
- Assist with the orientation and leadership training of youth volunteers
- Maintain clean camp spaces and comply with all health and safety regulations
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Current First-Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to provide an original Vulnerable Sector background check
- Ability to repeatedly lift 20 to 30 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks like bending and stooping
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working with children or youth
- Experience working with youth with complex needs and behaviors
- Knowledge of summer camp programming and leadership
