Summer Day Camp Counsellor

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and lead skills workshops for children aged 7-12, including drama, sports, and community service
• Implement summer activities both on-site and during a one-week overnight camp trip
• Develop meaningful relationships with children and families to support their holistic well-being
• Provide emotional and spiritual care in alignment with the organization's mission
• Support community programs such as food banks, crafts, and back-to-school events
• Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all safety and security procedures

Requirements

• At least one year of post-secondary education (or equivalent experience)
• Experience working with youth
• Clear and current Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
• Ability to work in a busy indoor/outdoor environment, including an overnight camp setting
• Eligibility for the Canada Summer Jobs program (specific age and legal status criteria apply)

Preferred Qualifications

• First Aid/CPR Certificate
• Valid Driver's License and clean driving abstract
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training
• Digital skills and teaching experience
