About the Company
Austin Sunshine Camps (ASC) provides the magic of overnight camp without the barrier of cost. Since 1928, ASC has provided free, fun-filled overnight summer camp programs for children by partnering with families who face barriers to accessing such programs.
Responsibilities
- Order, collect, store, and inventory food products and supplies in alignment with the budget and health standards
- Prepare and serve food daily in accordance with health standards
- Prepare alternate meals and snacks to account for allergies or dietary restrictions
- Brief staff on dietary/nutritional plans and accommodations
- Monitor and approve the cleaning of the kitchen, dishes, and eating areas
- Provide ongoing management and supervision of kitchen staff
- Ensure adherence to ASC’s Policies, the health department, and American Camp Association standards
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older
- Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience or currently a culinary arts student
- Food Managers Certification (or ability to obtain one before training)
- In-depth knowledge of food health and safety regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stress
- Ability to pass a national criminal background check
- Strong organizational and time management skills
