About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of an individual grade level during summer camp programs
- Oversee staff members and campers on a weekly basis
- Provide accurate daily counts and attendance records to the Program Director
- Document incidents, injuries, and behavioral issues using proper forms
- Communicate effectively with parents and the Program Director regarding camper issues
- Plan, organize, and implement curriculum and activities for youth specialty programs
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age or previous camp/childcare experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to provide active supervision for children over 8-9 hour periods
- Ability to maintain positive relations with children, parents, and staff
- Ability to pass reference checks, drug screens, background checks, and sex offender checks
- Commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA
