About the role

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of an individual grade level during summer camp programs
  • Oversee staff members and campers on a weekly basis
  • Provide accurate daily counts and attendance records to the Program Director
  • Document incidents, injuries, and behavioral issues using proper forms
  • Communicate effectively with parents and the Program Director regarding camper issues
  • Plan, organize, and implement curriculum and activities for youth specialty programs

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or previous camp/childcare experience
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to provide active supervision for children over 8-9 hour periods
  • Ability to maintain positive relations with children, parents, and staff
  • Ability to pass reference checks, drug screens, background checks, and sex offender checks
  • Commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA
