About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and applications for end-to-end subsurface workflows, including earth modeling, reservoir simulation, and economic analysis
  • Collaborate with functional disciplines such as Interpretation & Modeling and Decision Analysis to create integrated workflows
  • Partner with R&D digital projects to scale successful proof-of-concept efforts via the Subsurface Digital Platform
  • Work with partners like SLB and Microsoft to build digital services that complement vendor applications
  • Focus on user experience and data management development, including GUI, Power BI, and data engineering
  • Conduct application testing, pipeline development, and build/release processes on Azure Cloud platforms
  • Provide technical software documentation, user support, coaching, and mentoring

Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in engineering, earth science, or an equivalent field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software product development and the Petroleum Engineering industry
  • Proficiency in engineering software development using Python, C#, or C++
  • Experience with cloud computing frameworks and Azure ecosystems (pipelines, dashboards, and data management)
  • Strong understanding of physical processes in subsurface workflows and uncertainty analysis
  • Experience utilizing SAFE agile processes to implement prioritized features
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of reservoir engineering, simulation, and data analytics with ML/AI
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate simultaneous projects
  • Ability to clearly convey technical feedback through oral, email, and presentation media
