Substitute - HLG Child Care Center & Pre-K Academy

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in the care, instruction, and management of students
• Implement developmentally appropriate classroom management and curriculum planning
• Supervise children and interact through small group experiences, including assisting with potty training
• Observe and record student progress through anecdotal records and assessments
• Maintain up-to-date student records, release forms, and emergency documentation
• Perform light daily cleaning and disinfecting of the classroom environment and laundry
• Adhere to health and safety standards to ensure a clean and orderly classroom

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (verification required within 30 days of employment)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Strong reading, writing, and oral communication skills
• Ability to communicate positively with coworkers, parents, and children
• Successful completion of a childcare background check and FBI fingerprint check
• Physical ability to lift children up to 40 pounds and participate in gross motor activities

Preferred Qualifications

• Recent experience working in a licensed childcare facility or early childhood program
• Knowledge of the ages and stages of development for children ages 3 to 5
• Associate’s degree in Child Development and Early Childhood
