Substitute Early Childhood Paraeducator

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with the implementation of educational curriculum and daily record keeping
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and positive physical environment for children
• Support classroom management and child supervision for individual children and groups
• Aid in data collection for research projects and assist with child evaluations
• Collaborate with staff, including the Program Director and Laboratory Coordinator, to implement professional programs
• Maintain professional communication with parents through informal contact and participation in social or educational functions
• Guide college students in their classroom participation when appropriate

Requirements

• High school degree or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of experience working with preschool-age children
• Must be eligible for unsupervised access to children per the CT Commissioner of Early Childhood within four months of hire
