Substation Manager

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and manage a local team of substation engineers and designers
• Provide technical leadership across substation physical (primary) and protection & control (secondary) design
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables including one line diagrams, equipment layouts, and grounding plans
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts with civil, structural, transmission, and SCADA teams
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to support EPC execution and constructability reviews
• Contribute to business growth by improving processes and supporting proposals

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in substation projects or engineering management
• P.E. license required
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Knowledge of engineering and construction standards and processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Ability to work independently with limited oversight
