Substation Manager

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and manage a local team of substation engineers and designers.
• Provide technical leadership across substation physical (primary) and protection & control (secondary) design.
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables including one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, grounding plans, and protection schematics.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts with civil, structural, transmission, and SCADA teams.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to support EPC execution and constructability reviews.
• Contribute to business growth by improving processes and supporting proposals.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in substation engineering or management.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and represent the company professionally to clients and vendors.
