Substation Manager

Responsibilities

• Build, mentor, and manage a local team of substation engineers and designers
• Provide technical leadership across substation physical (primary) and protection & control (secondary) design
• Oversee development of engineering deliverables including one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and protection & control schematics
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering efforts with civil, structural, transmission, and SCADA teams
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to support EPC execution and constructability reviews
• Ensure engineering work meets quality standards, technical requirements, and client expectations

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in substation engineering or management
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary engineering efforts
