Substation Inspector - Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate substation inspectors, generator technicians, and contractors to deliver inspections, maintenance, and repairs safely and on time.
• Contribute to the Transmission Network Operations management team to support strategic and operational objectives.
• Manage team performance, including conducting regular reviews and identifying development opportunities for staff.
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
• Support the delivery of the department’s work programme while maintaining budget and quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external service providers to ensure successful business delivery.
• Analyse business performance data and translate outcomes into actionable insights for management decision-making.

Requirements

• Educated to HND level or possess demonstrable equivalent experience.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Proven experience in a similar role within a relevant operational or technical environment.
• Working knowledge of statutory regulations, specifically the Electricity Supply, Quality and Continuity Regulations (ESQCR).
• Strong communication, analytical, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to manage programmes of work within budget while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
