Substation Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage performance of department resources by providing timely feedback and assisting in career succession planning.
• Facilitate quality management, process compliance, and technical correctness on assigned projects.
• Act as Engineer of Record as needed for substation projects.
• Grow, train, and develop the Portland office engineering and design resources.
• Ensure project contract compliance and technical deliverable accuracy.
• Support estimating efforts including RFP reviews, proposal responses, and engineering fee estimates.
• Provide overall engineering and design technical leadership and expertise within the discipline.
• Identify hiring needs and manage recruitment to fill open roles.
• Coordinate department staffing and resource sharing with regional offices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience performing engineering related duties or management for substation projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is required.
• Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited university.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong knowledge of engineering and construction standards, scheduling, and contract management.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, and team-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited direction and oversight.
