Submarine Sonar Technician

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, and service sonar equipment and systems at company and client sites
• Assist in implementing Engineering Change Instructions and ensure compliance with documentation standards
• Develop technical data for Planned Maintenance Systems and troubleshooting procedures
• Provide on-site customer interface during installations and testing
• Train personnel in the operation and performance of sonar systems
• Coordinate technical work with other engineering technicians and support systems engineering activities

Requirements

• Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
• High School Diploma/GED and 7 years of practical experience OR a degree/formal training and 5 years of experience
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Proficiency with computer systems and integrated software applications
• Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and design solutions for hardware and software problems
• Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems
• Qualified Advanced SONAR operator
