Submarine Radar Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Provide technical evaluation, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Virginia Class AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) submarine radar systems.
• Support the AN/BVY-1 (ISIS) systems from installation through certification.
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair, calibration, testing, and operation of electronic systems.
• Monitor and service AN/BVY ISIS and AN/BPS radar systems at various Naval locations.
• Conduct electronic systems validation, verification, and test/evaluation support.
• Develop technical engineering data for Planned Maintenance Systems, technical manuals, troubleshooting procedures, and drawing updates.
• Review equipment impact change proposals and track project status and inventory.

Requirements

• Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Five (5) years of practical experience with a High School diploma/GED, OR three (3) years of experience with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science.
• Practical experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and/or repair of C5I and/or NC3 systems/equipment.
• Experience in the design, preparation, and modification of engineering documents and drawings.
• Experience in maintenance/repair and/or installation disciplines.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

• Knowledge across multiple submarine platforms and SWFTS systems.
