Subject Matter Expert - X86 & VMS Systems

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development and implementation of automated construction, testing, and operation procedures (IaC) for perimeter solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on the design and implementation of complex application solutions.
• Write architecture documents and Architecture Decision Records in coordination with the Product Architect.
• Manage the CMDB catalog and oversee inventories of solution components within the assigned perimeter.
• Provide Level 3 support and monitor technological trends for solutions within the perimeter.
• Participate in Agile rituals, including workload estimations and sprint planning for incremental functionality delivery.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the VMWare vSphere/VCF virtualization suite (ESX, NSX, vSAN, ARIA).
• Deep knowledge of VMS/OpenVMS systems (VAX, DEC Alpha) and emulation solutions such as Stromasys Charon or AVT VT.
• Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Extensive knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (versions 2003 through 2022).
• Solid understanding of storage and backup systems (VEEAM, RUBRIK, WASABI).
• Foundational knowledge of networking principles.
• Fluency in English to collaborate with global teams across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automated deployment tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Experience managing and operating X86 systems and hypervisors.
• Ability to implement diagnostic tools for VMS and X86 platforms.
• Experience applying IT security rules and operational guidelines in an enterprise environment.
