Subject Matter Expert, Investment Banking

Responsibilities

• Define the quality bar for AI-assisted investment banking work across research, financial analysis, valuation, modeling, and transaction execution.
• Translate complex banking workflows into representative evaluation tasks with realistic inputs and success criteria.
• Create and refine banker-grade reference artifacts, including financial models, pitch books, and transaction documents.
• Develop rigorous rubrics to assess financial correctness, analytical judgment, and internal consistency.
• Evaluate model outputs and identify failure modes to provide actionable feedback to Research, Engineering, and Product teams.
• Partner with product teams to prototype new workflows and identify high-value opportunities for AI in finance.

Requirements

• 2+ years of investment banking experience, including live transaction execution.
• Proven ability to produce high-quality financial models in Excel and polished PowerPoint presentations.
• Deep knowledge of core banking workflows, including M&A and capital raising.
• Strong analytical judgment with the ability to identify errors, weak assumptions, or inconsistent data.
• Ability to translate expert intuition into clear, actionable standards and rubrics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in adjacent fields such as private equity, corporate development, or equity research.
• A track record of improving financial workflows through automation, templates, or new technology.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation design, data annotation, or testing AI-enabled financial tools.
