About the role
Responsibilities
- Build complex and simple subassemblies and components while maintaining strict cleanliness specifications
- Oversee contract technicians to ensure adherence to work instructions and quality standards
- Perform testing and check-outs using helium leak checking and other specialized equipment
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to refine work instructions and finalize component designs
- Assist with precision alignment and installation of active and passive optical systems
- Participate in developing strategies to resolve non-conformances encountered in the field
- Maintain mandatory cleanliness of work areas and clean room environments
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- 5-7 years of experience in a highly technical assembly role (e.g., aerospace, semiconductor, or laboratory)
- 2 years of experience leading a team of four or more people
- Proficiency with machining tools (lathe/mill) and precision measurement tools
- Experience with tooling design and rigging/lifting heavy components
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Experience using JIRA, Manufacturo, or similar software-based tracking systems
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing and stooping
Preferred Qualifications
- Welding experience
- Knowledge of clean room best practices
- Knowledge of cryogenic systems
- Knowledge of Six Sigma processes
