Subassemblies Specialist

Responsibilities

• Build complex and simple subassemblies and components while maintaining strict cleanliness specifications
• Oversee contract technicians to ensure adherence to work instructions and quality standards
• Perform testing and check-outs using helium leak checking and other specialized equipment
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to refine work instructions and finalize component designs
• Assist with precision alignment and installation of active and passive optical systems
• Participate in developing strategies to resolve non-conformances encountered in the field
• Maintain mandatory cleanliness of work areas and clean room environments

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience in a highly technical assembly role (e.g., aerospace, semiconductor, or laboratory)
• 2 years of experience leading a team of four or more people
• Proficiency with machining tools (lathe/mill) and precision measurement tools
• Experience with tooling design and rigging/lifting heavy components
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Experience using JIRA, Manufacturo, or similar software-based tracking systems
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks like climbing and stooping

Preferred Qualifications

• Welding experience
• Knowledge of clean room best practices
• Knowledge of cryogenic systems
• Knowledge of Six Sigma processes
