About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on furnaces, annealers, and specialized glassworking equipment
- Routinely charge furnaces and ensure workspaces are clean, organized, and safe
- Prepare studio spaces for rentals, classes, residencies, and other programs
- Assist students, instructors, residents, and renters with technical guidance
- Support various glassmaking activities including furnace work, flameworking, kilnworking, and coldworking
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive creative environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Hands-on knowledge of glassblowing, flameworking, sandblasting, and fusing
- Experience working with glass studio equipment and systems
- Familiarity with Watlow controller programming and operation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Teams, SharePoint, and iOS technology
- Ability to lift and transport materials up to 50 pounds
- Availability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays
